Guidelines for Northwest Artists Membership

Janeanne Houston, managing member

Northwest Artists is an organization of highly motivated, working, regional classical singers, pianists, and conductors. Members must have an established track record of successful performances, maintain a high professional standard, and be willing to network with other members.  As the managing member, I reserve the right to drop a member from the website if payments are not received or if professional activities, personal conduct, and performance cease to reflect favorably upon the organization.  If a member is dropped from the website during the season, they will not be refunded any portion of their dues, as the expenses for the organization occur at the beginning of the season.

Membership is by invitation.  This is a volunteer organization, and the work is done as a courtesy to working artists, and in the spirit of cooperation and goodwill.   A proven track record of ethical collegial behavior is essential, and Northwest Artists members must be actively pursuing their careers.  We are primarily interested in Classical performing artists.

The organization is growing and changing as we go.  In addition to being a networking cooperative, we are rapidly becoming a management alternative.  Since this is the case, the membership guidelines will be more rigid in years to come.
